Chartered in 1973, the Federal Energy Management
Program (FEMP) is a
comprehensive Federal program that works to enhance security and reduce the

costs and environmental impact of the government by:

Advancing energy efficiency and water conservation;
Promoting the use of renewable and distributed energy; and,
Improving utility management decisions at Federal sites.
